The Canada Dental Care Plan is a federal program designed to provide dental coverage for uninsured Canadians with an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000. Use this tool to check your eligibility and estimate your co-payment level.
| Your Co-payment Share | 0% |
| Government Share | 100% |
*Coverage applies to established program fee rates. Balance billing may apply if your dentist charges more than the program rates.
Eligibility is based on three main criteria: you must not have access to any form of private dental insurance, you must have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000, and you must be a Canadian resident who filed a tax return for the previous year.
The plan covers a wide range of services including preventive care (cleanings, exams), restorative care (fillings), endodontic services (root canals), and prosthodontic services (dentures).
Dentists may charge more for their services than the fee rates established by the Canada Dental Care Plan. If this happens, you are responsible for paying the difference directly to the dentist, in addition to any required co-payment.
